A string quartet on Mokelumne

Dedicated semi-professional musicians devote hot afternoon to providing sublime music for neighbors and friends.... though sweltering, it was wonderful. I learned that Mendelssohn idolized Beethoven and the year Beethoven died, when M. was 18, was very tragic. He rose above it to compose a beautiful string quartet.

I loved that string quartet too! Our son was crazy for it!

Hey--can you help me get signed up on the Mokeridge yahoo group?

just a little correction -- the members of the string quartet are actually full blooded professionals, who play in city orchestras around the bay area. The sad fact is that even true professional musicians can rarely make a full living playing music, so they often have other professions at the same time.

Thank you for correction. I hope they'll have more concerts for the neighborhood.
